The invention relates to the field of traffic, and especially refers to a long downhill road automobile brake performance early warning system. The system comprises a high-definition camera, an infrared thermal imaging temperature measurement camera, a control host and an electronic display screen, wherein the high-definition camera is installed above a downhill road, the infrared thermal imaging temperature measurement camera is installed at the side edge of the downhill road, and the electronic display screen is arranged in front of the downhill road. The high-definition camera detects whether a vehicle reaches a detection area, sends arrival signals to the infrared thermal imaging temperature measurement camera and sends a picture to a control host; the infrared thermal imaging temperature measurement camera, after receiving the signals sent by the high-definition camera, acquires a thermal imaging picture and measures the temperature of the vehicle and sends thermal imaging and temperature information to the control host, and the control host performs image processing and displays information of the vehicle whose automobile wheel hub temperature is greater than a set value on the electronic display screen. The long downhill road automobile brake performance early warning system can effectively prevent the vehicle from traffic accidents caused by brake failure due to too high wheel hub temperature at the long downhill road.
