The invention discloses a multi-drum mechanism. The multi-drum mechanism comprises at least one drum structure and a height limiting detection structure, wherein the drum structure consists of first and second lifting drums and a lifting steel wire rope which is connected between a grab and the first and second drums respectively; the height limiting detection structure is used as a grab height detection and limiting basis according to sum of rope winding and releasing amounts of the first and second lifting drums; the rope releasing amount is a positive value, and the rope winding amount is a negative value; when only a trolley is drawn, one of the first and second lifting drums is used for winding, and the other one is used for releasing, so the sum of the rope winding and releasing amounts of the first and second lifting drums is zero and detection is not required; only when the grab is lifted, the rope is wound or released simultaneously, the rope winding and releasing amounts of the first and second lifting drums are positive or negative simultaneously and detection is performed; meanwhile when the trolley is operated and the grab is lifted, one of two steel wire rope amounts for operating the trolley is positive and the other one is negative, and the two amounts cancel out; the two parts of steel wire rope for lifting the grab are positive or negative simultaneously, the sum of the rope winding and releasing amounts of the first and second lifting drums only relates to the part for lifting the grab and is only used for detecting the steel wire rope of the lifting part.
