The two lateral edge sections of a console body (4) are provided with a pair of left and right padded sections (40) extending in the front-rear direction. When seen from a planar view, each of the padded sections (40) is formed in a manner such that the rear section thereof is wider than the front section thereof, and the upper surface of the rear end of the padded sections (40) is formed so as to continue in a substantially identical plane as the upper surface of the front end of an arm rest (8). The section between the pair of left and right padded sections (40) on the upper surface of the console body (4) forms a concave surface (41), and a dial switch (20) is positioned on the concave surface (41). A stepped section (7) having an upper surface which is higher than the concave surface (41) and lower than the upper surface of the padded sections (40) is formed to the rear of the dial switch (20) and to the front of the arm rest (8).
