The invention relates to a network recognition method for jam level, and the method comprises the following steps: (1) providing a network recognition system for jam level, wherein the system comprises on-site image receiving equipment, automobile terminal data receiving equipment, and embedded processing equipment. The on-site image receiving equipment receives an on-site image, transmitted by a camera located at a targeted road section, of the target road section through network communication. The automobile terminal data receiving equipment receives a real-time vehicle speed, transmitted by an automobile terminal located at the targeted road section, through network communication. The embedded processing equipment determines the jam level of the targeted road section according to the on-site image of the targeted road section and the real-time vehicle speed. The method also comprises a step: (2) employing the above recognition system for recognition.
