A vehicle control system, a surface marking for a surface upon which a vehicle 1 can be positioned and a method of positioning a vehicle 1, wherein the vehicle control system is configured to position a vehicle 1, the vehicle comprising a mobile inductive charging point 2, wherein the vehicle control system comprises: one or more parking sensors 3 configured to determine the position of the vehicle 1 relative to a surface upon which the vehicle 1 is positioned and/or obstacles around the vehicle 1, wherein the one or more parking sensors 3 are further configured to locate a visual indicator indicating the position of a fixed inductive charging point 9 relative to the vehicle 1; and a parking assistance controller 6 configured to automatically park the vehicle 1 in a parking space on the surface based on data from the one or more parking sensors 3, wherein the parking assistance controller 6 is further configured to use data from the one or more parking sensors 3 to position the vehicle 1 in an aligned position in which the fixed inductive charging point 9 and the mobile inductive charging point 2 are substantially aligned.
