The invention discloses a control method of a hybrid electric vehicle. A power transmission system of the hybrid electric vehicle comprises a power battery, an engine, a first motor, a second motor, a first planetary gear set, a second planetary gear set, an output shaft, a first clutch and a second clutch. The control method comprises the following steps: detecting the SOC (state of charge) of the power battery, and obtaining the demanded torque of the hybrid electric vehicle; controlling the hybrid electric vehicle to enter a corresponding working mode according to the SOC of the power battery and the demanded torque of the hybrid electric vehicle, wherein the working modes comprise a pure electric driving mode, a pure electric accelerating mode, a hybrid-power accelerating mode, a first range-extended mode, a second range-extended mode and an range-extended accelerating mode. According to the control method, the power property of the hybrid electric vehicle is improved through the assistance of the engine, so that the working efficiency of the motors is improved, and the cost of the motors is reduced. The invention further discloses a hybrid electric vehicle and a power transmission system of the hybrid electric vehicle.
