The invention relates to the field of electric power energies and particularly relates to a buoyancy electricity generating method, a buoyancy electricity generating system, a floating water tank and a buoy. The buoyancy electricity generating system comprises a fixed water tank and the floating water tank, wherein the fixed water tank is located on a set height position and provided with a water falling channel, and a hydroelectric generator is arranged on the water falling channel; the floating water tank comprises the buoy and a tank body supported on the buoy, the buoy comprises an expansion-shrinkage floating body, the tank body can ascend and descend by use of the buoyancy of water with the expansion and shrinkage of the expansion-shrinkage floating body, in addition, a water discharging gate capable of supplying the fixed water tank with lifted water is arranged on the tank body, when the fixed water tank is used, the time needed by fully discharging of the water volume received from the floating water tank in single time through the water falling channel is not less than the time sum needed by the floating water tank to complete one-time ascending and descending and water discharging. By means of the buoyancy electricity generating method, the water volume needed by hydroelectric generation can be reduced, the cost of a hydroelectric power station is reduced, and restrained conditions of the hydroelectric generation are reduced.
