The invention discloses an automobile air conditioning compressor monitoring method and device. The real-time maximum torque Tmax of a compressor is determined according to the engine rotational speed, the air conditioning system pressure and the compressor opening, the comparison is performed on the obtained real-time maximum torque Tmax of the compressor and a torque Tx which is timely obtained from the compressor, and a fault of the compressor is produced if Tx is larger than Tmax. According to the automobile air conditioning compressor monitoring method and device, whether the fault of the air conditioning compressor is produced or not can be timely and accurately found, the inaccuracy due to the fact that a driver determines whether the fault of the air conditioning compressor is produced or not through noise of an automobile front cabin according the experience is avoided, and accordingly the possibility of a traffic accident induced by the power loss due to the serious abrasion between an engine and the compressor once the compressor is damaged is reduced.
