The invention discloses a novel elevator system with a steel belt. The novel elevator system comprises a traction sheave (1), the traction sheave (1) is connected with the steel belt (2), one end of the steel belt (2) is connected with a lift car (4) through an overhead sheave (3), and the other end of the steel belt (2) is connected with a counterweight (6) through a guide pulley (5). The steel belt (2) comprises a polyurethane wrapper (7), a plurality of steel wire ropes (8) uniformly distributed are arranged in the polyurethane wrapper (7), each steel wire rope (8) is sleeved with a fiber jacket (9), and a nylon holder (10) is arranged between every two adjacent fiber jackets (9). The elevator system is provided with the fiber jackets and the nylon holders, so that falling fracture or dislocation is prevented; arc-shaped guide planes, grooves, stop collars and a tenon are arranged, so that the steel belt is prevented from slipping; a cotton rope and an abrasion-resistant layer are arranged, so that abrasion resistance is improved, and service life is prolonged. The elevator system can prevent the steel belt from slipping and improve guide stability, and has the advantages of being resistant to abrasion, free of falling fracture and dislocation and long in service life.
