The invention discloses a signal lamp self-adaptive control system and method for large park traffic safety and overcomes the defect that the fixed timing control method of large- and medium-sized park traffic signal lamps cannot flexibly adapt to park pedestrian flow change. The method includes the steps of firstly, using camera devices distributed on various road sections of a park to perform video collection, and processing images according to a set human body recognition algorithm to obtain pedestrian flow information so as to achieve pedestrian flow detecting; secondly, by a control module, judging road section busy states according to corresponding pedestrian flows, and providing corresponding signal lamp control signals; thirdly, by the signal lamps, responding to the received control signals from the control module, and controlling passing rights. The method has the advantages that the pedestrian flows of the various road sections in the park are judged, the passing rights of the road sections are controlled in real time by controlling the switching of the signal lamps at the intersections of the park, pedestrian passing requirements are satisfied effectively, and road safety is guaranteed effectively.
