The invention provides a strain gauge protection method. During strain gauge protection, a strain gauge protection box is placed on an adhering strain gauge, and the position of the strain gauge protection box is fixed with adhesive tape; then, one side of the adhesive tape is torn open, the strain gauge protection box is painted with adhesives, and the strain gauge protection box is fixed on a test specimen; finally, the inner portion of the strain gauge protection box is painted with protective agents, so the strain gauge protection box adheres to the test specimen, the adhesive tape is removed, and the strain gauge is protected. According to the method, the strain gauge adhering to the test specimen is protected, and the problem that after adhesion of the strain gauge, measurement data of the strain gauge are invalid due to factors such as trampling, oil stain soaking, a short circuit and an open circuit is solved.
