The invention discloses a method for detecting a pedestrian through laser, and the method is suitable for a car-mounted detection device. The device comprises a laser radar device, an indication lamp, a loudspeaker and a horn which are installed on a lattice arch. The method includes the following steps that the laser radar device emits a wave beam to scan the pedestrian in front of a car, and the wave beam is reflected to a sensor when encountering the pedestrian; an A/D converter converts output signals of the sensor into a digital format from an analogue format; a single chip microcomputer analyzes the output signals of the sensor; when the distance between the pedestrian and the car is smaller than a first distance, the indication lamp is lighted; when the distance between the pedestrian and the car is smaller than a second distance, the loudspeaker is started; when the distance between the pedestrian and the car is smaller than a third distance, the horn whistles.
