The invention provides a method for establishing the visual field boundary of rearview mirrors. The method includes the steps that visual field calibration parameters of the rearview mirrors are acquired; according to the visual field calibration parameters of the rearview mirrors, a vehicle width boundary, a ground line, rearview mirror surfaces and left and right eye point positions are drawn; a regulated visual field area is drawn; according to the regulated visual field area and the rearview mirror surfaces, the relation between regulated visual field limit points and left and right eye points is built, and the minimum mirror surface regulated visual field boundary meeting rearview mirror visual field regulations is acquired. The mirror surface area can be accurately defined before the rearview mirror style is designed, the shapes and positions of the rearview mirrors can be regulated in time, designing of the rearview mirror style is easy to optimize, and calibration is easy and efficient.
