The invention provides a drive axle assembly. The drive axle assembly comprises a differential mechanism and a brake; the differential mechanism comprises a half shaft arranged in a differential mechanism housing; a half shaft gear is axially assembled to the half shaft; the differential mechanism further comprises a frictional plate which sleeves the half shaft gear, and a pressing block for extruding the frictional plate, wherein the pressing block is arranged between the differential mechanism housing and the frictional plate; the brake comprises an oil pressure braking mechanism for braking a hub; the oil pressure braking mechanism is mounted in a braking box. The invention further provides a loader comprising the drive axle assembly above. According to the drivel axle assembly, the differential mechanism has two effects of difference speed and difference torque, and therefore, the passing performance of a vehicle can be improved; the brake is free of influence from the outside environment, so that the braking is reliable; the environmental adaptability of the drive axle assembly can be improved, and the working conditions are stable.
