The invention provides a freeway management system. The freeway management system consists of a three-level management structure, namely a freeway provincial monitoring management center, a municipal monitoring management center and a front-end infrastructure monitoring unit, wherein information of the front-end infrastructure monitoring unit is gathered to the municipal monitoring management center, and is gathered to the provincial monitoring management center through the municipal monitoring management center, so that the linkage is realized. The front-end infrastructure monitoring unit comprises a microwave detector for detecting parameters, such as road section speeds, traffic flows, vehicle distances and vehicle models, a surveillance camera, a broadcasting system, a system server and a management host. The microwave detector, the surveillance camera and the broadcasting system are respectively connected with the system server and the management host.
