The invention discloses a pre-speed-changing device for an automatic escalator and relates to the technical field of conveying belt type conveying devices. The pre-speed-changing device for the automatic escalator comprises a roller support and a gearbox. A row of rollers are connected to the roller support in the length direction in a rotating mode. The gearbox is installed on the right side of the roller support. Gear speed changing units are arranged in the gearbox, and each roller corresponds to the corresponding gear speed changing unit. In the gearbox, a timing belt matched with the roller support in length is installed on the right side of the gear speed changing units. In the gearbox, the lower end face of the timing belt is evenly provided with a row of towing wheels in a rolling and matched mode in the length direction. The timing belt is driven by a motor installed on the outer side of the gearbox. In the length direction of the roller support, the rotating speeds of the output ends of the gear speed changing units are gradually decreased or increased. By the adoption of the pre-speed-changing device for the automatic escalator, pre-acceleration can be conducted before passengers continuously ride the automatic escalator, pre-deceleration can be conducted after the passengers leave the escalator, in this way, the speed limitation to the automatic escalator is broken through, and the operation efficiency of the automatic escalator is improved.
