The invention discloses a judgment method for the finish moment of return-to-center compensation in an electric power steering system. According to the method, motor equivalent resistance and return-to-center compensation time are adopted as the judgment criterion, and the logic or relation is adopted to judge the finish moment of return-to-center compensation. The electric power steering system comprises a brush direct-current motor and a controller connected with the brush direct-current motor. The controller comprises a torque sensor interface module, a vehicle speed/engine rotating speed input module, a decision-making module, a motor driving module and a measuring module, wherein the decision-making module is connected with the torque sensor interface module and the vehicle speed/engine rotating speed input module and used for measuring the return-to-center compensation time, determining output currents of an assist motor and calculating other parameters in the assist process, the measuring module and the motor driving module are connected with the motor, and the measuring module is used for measuring the current and the voltage of the motor.
