The invention provides a low-cost, universal and strong-performance automatic parking method and system. Parking track data generated in the manual driving process are recorded through a log system, and a parking memory stick is generated; when an intelligent vehicle is automatically parked, the corresponding parking track curve segment in the parking memory stick is called according to the vehicle type and the size of a parking space so that parking can be performed; when the vehicle reaches the end point of the parking track curve segment, the vehicle speed is zero, and automatic parking is completed. The low-cost, universal and strong-performance automatic parking method is provided, vehicles in different vehicle types can be correctly and safely parked under the condition that parking spaces are different in thousands of ways, and the method can be used for auxiliary parking of common vehicles and automatic parking of intelligent vehicles.
