A mobile communication system includes: a mobile station located in a movable body moving along predetermined routes; and a plurality of base stations located along the routes. The mobile station comprises: an interruption time determination unit that determines whether an interruption time, for which the communication between the mobile station and a base station with which the mobile station currently communicatively connects and which is located on the side of the moving direction of a route viewed from the current position of the movable body is interrupted, is within a predetermined allowable time; and a handover process unit that performs a handover process when the interruption time determination unit determines that the interruption time is not within the allowable time.
