The invention relates to a method (200) for supplementing object information assigned to an object (104), the object (104) being located in surroundings (108) of a vehicle (100), the method (200) involving a reading step (202), an evaluation step (204) and an expansion step (206). In the reading step (202), sensor information is read that represents a reaction of a driver (114) of the vehicle (100) to the object (104) located in a line of sight (308) of the driver (114). In the evaluation step (204), the sensor information is evaluated in order to obtain recognition information, the recognition information representing a result of the evaluation as to whether the driver (114) has recognized the object (104). In the expansion step (206), the object information is expanded with the detection information.
