One purpose of the present invention is to provide: a silica/styrene butadiene rubber composite body in which silica is finely dispersed; and a method for producing the silica/styrene butadiene rubber composite body. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide: a rubber composition which uses the silica/styrene butadiene rubber composite body; and a pneumatic tire. The present invention relates to a silica/styrene butadiene rubber composite body which is obtained from a blended latex that is prepared by mixing a surfactant with a dispersion liquid of fine silica particles having an average particle diameter of 1 [mu]m or less, and then mixing the thus-obtained mixture with an emulsion polymerized styrene butadiene rubber latex.
