The invention discloses an elevator safety maintenance method. The elevator safety maintenance method comprises the steps that (1) the initial sliding distance of an elevator is acquired in a self-learning mode; (2) the actual sliding distance of the elevator is detected regularly; (3) corresponding processing is conducted on the elevator according to the relation among the initial sliding distance, the actual sliding distance and the preset critical sliding distance. According to the elevator safety maintenance method, a testing method is simple, and data analysis is conveniently conducted; due to the fact that the working condition of the elevator is detected regularly, the problems of the elevator are discovered in advance, maintenance and repair are timely conducted on the elevator, and the hidden danger is prevented before happening. Compared with the phenomenon that in the prior art, the elevator is processed only when the elevator has a fault, the elevator safety maintenance method has higher safety and operability.
