The invention relates to an energy-saving vehicle power system which is characterized in that 'air suction and compression' actions and 'ignition explosion, doing work by expansion and exhaust' actions of a traditional automobile internal-combustion engine are separated and can independently run, an air storage device (storing, dispensing and compressing air) is added, and braking energy is recycled by compressing the air. A use mode of vehicle energy and a working mode of a power core are optimized, and the use efficiency of the vehicle energy can be remarkably improved. The system has the advantages that the air supply quantity and the expansion ratio can be continuously changed through a fuel pneumatic motor outputting power, wide power output can be obtained, heat engine efficiency can be improved, the fuel pneumatic motor can serve as a pure pneumatic motor for working without consuming fuels and can instantly start and stop as needed, idling energy consumption is avoided, vehicle kinetic energy is recycled by compressing the air when an automobile brakes, energy use efficiency is improved, and the contradiction between the 'power performance' and 'fuel economy' in the traditional automobile is improved, so that the automobile has excellent power performance and fuel economy.
