Upgrades to the previously designed model ATV passenger foot rest. "Ballistic nylon refers to a specific type of nylon fabric designed for maximum durability and abrasion resistance. Created by Dupont during world war ii, its original intended purpose was for protecting aircraft personnel from shrapnel, bullets, and other ballistic impacts (hence the name)". This fabric is needed in the full manufacturing of the foot rests, due to the nature of their use to endure impact from sharp road rocks, debris and rivets and buckles from passengers riding boots. Additionally, the material is a necessary change because of the plastic inserted base. The corners on the base, in the past have worn through the material, due to the amount of weight they are enduring and the material break-down due to wet conditions and the use of a pressure washer at too-close of range. Adapter-straps have been designed to work in conjunction with the foot rest straps and made from the same material to allow the foot rests to now be compatible with rear ATV racks. These racks are made from composite plastic material instead of the previously made round metal tube racks. The slots in the rear composite racks have sharp edges on the bottom side which wear through the previous model straps at an accelerated rate which is why they are not recommended to be used with ATV's with such racks. A drain plug has been added to the bottom of each foot rest at the back, where the passengers heels of their feet would sit to allow water drainage in wet conditions to keep the riders feet dry. A protection strap was also added to "hide away" the metal drain plug and to protect the ATV fenders from abrasion wear due to rubbing and vibrations from the passenger's feet when riding.
