The invention relates to a method for attaching a component to a fuselage section (10) of an aircraft or spacecraft. In a step of the method (S1), a rail (4) is arranged within a fuselage section (10) of an aircraft, which rail (4) extends in a longitudinal direction of the fuselage section (10). In another step (S2), a support structure (2) is movably mounted to the rail (4) such that the support structure (2) can be moved along the rail (4) in the longitudinal direction of the fuselage section (10). The support structure (2) comprises a positioning unit (3) for positioning a tool (5) for attaching the component to the fuselage section (10) at a location where the component is to be attached to the fuselage section (10). The invention also relates to a device (1) for attaching a component to a fuselage section (10) of an aircraft.
