An electric winch protection device includes an electric winch apparatus, a winch mechanism, a transmission mechanism, a drive motor, and a Hall sensor element, and the winch mechanism, the transmission 5 mechanism, and the drive motor are parts of the electric winch apparatus. The winch mechanism includes a steel cable mounted thereto. The winch mechanism is in operative coupling with the transmission mechanism. The drive motor is connected with the transmission mechanism in order to drive the winch mechanism to rotate by means of the transmission 10 mechanism. The Hall sensor element is mounted on the electric winch apparatus and the Hall sensor element is operable to calculate a rotation angle and rotation turns of the winch mechanism, the transmission mechanism, or the drive motor in order to determine a relative length of the steel cable to prevent excessive rotation of the winch mechanism that 15 causes damage to the steel cable. -~~~ ~ ~ 11, - - ------- ' 14 - - -------I- ------
