An unmanned vehicle module (700) with a landing platform (703) and deployment system with improved charging capability is provided, the unmanned vehicle module including a landing and deployment area for receiving or deploying an unmanned vehicle (UAV).The landing area includes a smart device for precision landing, alignment mechanisms for the self-alignment of the UAV (716) for establishing electrical contact with different charging mechanisms located on-board of the UAV and on the landing platform of the landing platform and deployment system, an automatic charging mechanism integrated into the landing and deployment system, and the tools needed to recharge the on-board energy storage and conversion device. The unmanned vehicle module also has charging contacts (719, 720), an electrical energy storage and conversion device and an UAV alignment mechanism (701a, 702) including four beams for moving the UAV into the predetermined charging region.
