The plurality of stacked layers (102) have one or more interlaminar corrugations (100) formed within the plurality of stacked layers (102). Each interlaminar corrugation (100) has a substantially sinusoidal shaped profile (101), and has a depth (114) and a length (116) dependent on a size (103 of the laminated composite structure (10) formed. The laminated composite structure (10) with the one or more interlaminar corrugations (100) has improved strength (202) and improved impact damage resistance (200) at an exposed edge (80) of the laminated composite (10) structure, when the exposed edge (80) is subjected to an impact force (88). FORMING A LAMINATE ASSEMBLY COMPRISING AT LEAST A FIRST LAMINATE COUPLED TO A SECOND LAMINATE, AND ONE OR MORE GAP ELEMENTS COUPLED BETWEEN THE FIRST LAMINATE AND 252 THE SECOND LAMINATE, TO FORM A GAP AREA BETWEEN THE FIRST LAMINATE AND THE SECOND LAMINATE USING A PRESSURIZING SYSTEM TO CONSOLIDATE THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY, AND TO CREATE A LOW PRESSURE REGION IN THE GAP AREA FOR FORMING ONE OR MORE INTERLAMINAR 254 CORRUGATIONS CURING THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY TO FORM A LAMINATED COMPOSITE STRUCTURE HAVING THE ONE OR MORE INTERLAMINAR CORRUGATIONS, WHEREIN THE FORMED 256 LAMINATED COMPOSITE STRUCTURE HAS IMPROVED IMPACT DAMAGE RESISTANCE AND IMPROVED STRENGTH OPTIONALLY, AFTER FORMING THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY, AND BEFORE USING THE PRESSURIZING SYSTEM, POSITIONING A FIRST END PLATE AND A SECOND END PLATE, RESPECTIVELY, AGAINST 258 OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY, TO FACILITATE A FLOW DIRECTION OF RESIN MATERIAL AND OF FIBER MATERIAL, OF THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY, INTO THE GAP AREA, DURING CONSOLIDATION AND CURING OF THE LAMINATE ASSEMBLY
