Conventional side curtains on truck and trailer bodies are retained along the top edge on a track or guide system extending along the roof of the body, such that the curtain may be slid between the ends of the body. The applicant has previously developed a side curtain that utilises an automated attaching and tensioning arrangement. It has been found to provide significantly reduced time and effort to attach and vertically tension the curtain when compared to conventional side curtains. This automated arrangement has been found to operate particularly efficiently and effectively. However, the cost associated with such an arrangement is considered prohibitive in some applications and by some operators. According to the present invention, there is provided a side curtain for truck or trailer bodies. The curtain has a bottom edge in the shape of a series of intersecting concave arcs (or curves). A point of intersection between each of successive adjoining arcs is at near the lowermost points of the curtain and provides tension points for tensioning the curtain in a vertical direction. An aperture is provided in the curtain at each point of intersection. A tension member is slidably enclosed in the curtain along the bottom edge and exposed at each aperture to form a respective said tension point. The tension member is secured to the curtain at at least one securing location along each arc, thereby limiting sliding movement of the tension member along the bottom edge of the curtain when vertically tensioning the curtain. tt r*%i mAN
