JOINT FOR COMPOSITE WINGS A wing joint (1) including a T-chord (10) and a splice plate (15) for connecting an inboard wing panel assembly (20) and an outboard wing panel assembly (30). The wing panel assemblies (20, 30) include a stringer (60) co-bonded or co-cured with a wing skin (40, 50). The webbing (62) and cap (63) of the stringer may be trimmed to expose a noodle (64) and base flange (61). The noodle (64) and base flange (61) interface with the bottom of the T chord (10) and the wing skin interfaces (40, 50) with the splice plate (15). The exposed noodle (64) may be non-flush with the base flange (61) of the trimmed stringer (60). The bottom of the T-chord (10) may include a groove (18) to accommodate a non-flush noodle (64) so that a gap does not exist between the T-chord (10) and the base flange (61). Alternatively, shims (67) may be used to compensate for a non-flush noodle (64) or the base flange (61) and web (62) may include sacrificial plies (69) permitting the base flange (61) and web (62) to be trimmed flush with the noodle (64).
