AN interesting example of the extraordinarily wide range of materials used in the modern aeroplane is afforded by the contents of this issue. It is not without significance that in the same number we conclude an article on the characteristics, methods of treatment and uses of the aluminium bronzes and publish a comprehensive treatise—for it is little less—on wood for use in aeroplanes.
