Available with and without thrust augmentation by afterburning, the Adour turbofan was first produced for the Anglo-French Sepecat Jaguar. For this aircraft, the engine entered service in 1972 as the Mk 102 with a dry thrust of 5,115 lb which is increased to 7,305 lb when reheated. A non-afterburning version of the Adour known as the Mk 151 is produced for the British Aerospace Hawk, and this began RAF service in 1976 with a thrust rating of 5,200 lb. The engine is also in service with the Japanese T-2 trainer and F-1 fighter as the Mk 801A, which has the same thrust ratings as the Mk 102.
