Abstract We investigate the thermal structure of a coronal mass ejection (CME) in meter-dekameter wavelengths and compare it with the optical evidence. The multifrequency observations enable us to infer the three dimensional structure of the CME. We estimated the mass of the CME and found to be in reasonable agreement with the range of values obtained from white light observations. Nonthermal emission was present in the form of type III and continuum emissions several minutes after the CME onset. We use this information to study the relative timing between flares and CMEs. Finally we develop a schematic model of the event and point out that particle acceleration high in the corona is possible.
