AbstractThe ability observing a volcanic activity with a new airborne multispectral scanner (VAM-90A) of 9 bands is confirmed. Composite color images consisting visible, near IR, thermal IR are effective for clarifying lava dome condition. IR band image detects increasing temperature trend of craters, the surface temperature of lava domes and that of pyroclastic flow. Satellite data (Landsat/TM, MOS-1/MESSR and SPOT/HRV images) are used to detect land changes caused by pyroclastic debris flow, the debris accumulation and ash deposition.
