Abstract In this paper, a complete system for interstellar navigation using quasars is described and analyzed. Planning interstellar voyages at velocities comparable to the velocity of light forces us to consider relativistic aberrational effects. Moreover, great distances do not agree to control the ship's trajectory by Earth. Measurements of the aberrated angular distances between two quasars belonging to a set of three quasars, at least, can be used to rectify automatically the spacecraft trajectory by means of an algorithm reported in this paper. The best result of the simulation was obtained using apical longitudinal angular distances between the quasars around 90° and 180°.
