AbstractThe FLI Imaging Spectrometer uses 5 CCD cameras to provide pushbroom imaging in spectral bands that can be selected under computer control in the wavelength range 430–800 nm. An alternate read-out mode gives full spectral coverage with 2.5 nm resolution, with coarser imaging capability. The main goal of the instrument development has been to evaluate phytoplankton mapping using naturally stimulated chlorophyll fluorescence near 685 nm. An example is shown of successful use of this technique. The instrument also has the flexibility for a variety of other ocean and atmospheric remote sensing.
