Abstract A homogeneous field turbulence may be characterized by a field-energy distribution (FED), denoted P(ω,), that specifies how the field energy density is distributed with regard to the angular frequency ω, and to the propagation and space wave-numbers . The inverse problem is examined, which consists in estimating P(ω,) from the simultaneous measurements of m field components (m=6 when the three electric and the three magnetic components are measured) at n different points in space. Several cases are considered : non-turbulent field, electromagnetic turbulent field, and electrostatic turbulent field.
