Abstract A series of observations made with the Multiple Mirror Telescope show that the J-H and H-K colors of the quiescent infrared emission are independent of X-ray phase. These data and additional photometric data obtained with the Infrared Telescope Facility covering 1.25 to 4.80 μm show the quiescent spectrum to be consistent with thermal bremsstrahlung emission reddened by interstellar absorption (A V between 21 and 28 magnitudes). We discuss how these measurements, along with X-ray measurements, can be used to overdetermine the parameters of the accretion disk corona. Earlier data suggested that the times of the onset of radio flares is periodic with a period of 4.95 h, several percent longer than the X-ray period. We suggested two possible models to account for this period: a precessing eccentric orbit model, and a three body model. A distinctive prediction of the three body model was that more observations should show jumps or glitches in the phase of the radio period. We present here extensive new observations that show the first clear evidence for a phase glitch. We discuss the implications of these observations for the previously proposed models, and suggest one new model: a precessing, eccentric disk.
