Cars built at Derby works of L.M.S. Railway Co are 69 ft long and 9 ft 2 1/4 in. wide, fitted with six-wheel trucks; riveting dispensed with in favor of arc welding; "Thermotank" equipment provides combined heating and ventilating throughout car by means of punkah louvres in each berth.
