Boom is due to effects of body volume, wing volume, wing incidence or lift, and wing-body interference; contribution in far field of each of factors can be represented as that of equivalent body of revolution; concept is developed to investigate possibilities of using interference, to reduce or suppress boom due to lift; results of wind tunnel experiments.
