Study of effects of engine and fuel variables; indicated thermal efficiency is shown to be more function of compression ratio and fuel-air ratio than of any other factor provided combustion rates are normal; heat rejection to cooling liquid is affected by compression ratio; octane requirements of 3 combustion chambers in terms of primary and commercial reference fuels and tabulations of measured and calculated engine power and efficiency data.
