Problem of applying sealant material in fuel tanks solved at Douglas Aircraft Co, Long Beach Div, through use of mechanical slushing device installed in specially constructed explosionproof air conditioned room; design requirements with reference to tank wings; wing is filled up to 70% capacity with EC 776 sealant and rotated at 1/2 rpm through gear reduction air motor drive.
