Oil tanker of 3951 tons deadweight, built in 1922, has completed 3 1/2 years of continuous service between America and Europe; engines are of Burmeister and Wain -- Deutscher Werft type, developing 1550 i.hp. at 125 r.p.m.; they are salt-water cooled and no trouble has been experienced in this connection; fuel-oil consumption gradually fell during first 2 years and has attained steady value which is definite improvement on shop tests; results of measurements on wearing of crank bearings, piston rings and piston, and injection air-compressor diameter.
