Experimental work shows that at low altitudes (25,000 ft and lower) combustion efficiencies are high and unaffected by output level or fuels; practically no efficiency differences noted between widely differing fuels, such as aviation gasoline and diesel fuel; there seem to be greater differences among combustors of different designs operating on same fuel than among different fuels in same combustor.
