First of DDG 2 class, guided missile destroyers to enter water, USS Henry B. Wilson (DDG7), was launched at Defoe Shipbldg Co, Mich; ship is about 440 ft long oa and has normal displacement of about 4000 tons; 4 h-p boilers will furnish superheated steam sufficient to deliver 35,000 hp to each of 2 shafts; top speed will be above 30 knots; calculations and plotting of path of ship as launched are discussed; 16 of photographs made of launching are shown, and conclusions drawn from film and pictures reported.
