Tugboat for handling vessels on River Humber was built for J.H.Pigott of Grimsby by Cook, Welton and Gemmel Ltd; Ruston and Hornsby type 7VEBCM diesel engine with power output of 850 shp at 600 rpm drives through Hindmarch-M.W.D. type M2WR5 oil-operated reverse and reduction gearbox; Ruston type 4YDAZ and 2 YDA engines are used in auxiliary sets; development by Ruston and Hornsby which has resulted in quicker reduction of main engine speed thereby improving overall maneuvering qualities of vessel takes form of disk braking system operating on flywheel; this new equipment is described.
