Irregular mixture ratio (O/F) distribution across face of injector can result from unequal hydraulic resistances to injector elements and by chamber cooling requirements; degree to which O/F distribution will influence specific impulse depends upon propellant system and operating conditions, extent of O/F deviations, and degree of turbulent mixing in combustion chamber; how these effects can be taken into account in rocket thrust chamber designs by use of stream-tube analysis is shown; evaluations of three rocket thrust systems and experimental results.
