Tackle designed by Furness Withy and Co, London, for use on docks in loading and unloading automobiles, consists of two welded tubular steel frames suspended by ropes and wooden spreaders; two spreaders run lengthwise to car and are retained on ropes by splices while other two, which act as distance pieces, have wedge shaped slots so that they are held in position by friction and weight of gear.
