Verticraft is defined as fast aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing but incapable of power-off autorotational descent; attempt is made to predict pattern of expected accidents and relative safety of verticraft in relation to airplanes and helicopters; potential accidents are discussed first as to possible causes and then as to probable results; loss of control and loss of power aspects are considered; summary of specific conclusions positive to safety.
