Mercury provided sound foundation for Gemini, both by virtue of its successful features, which could be developed to meet new requirements, and its shortcomings, which highlighted areas in which new approach was required; Gemini and Mercury are compared with regard to their aerodynamic shapes and systems; basic design ground rules and mission requirements, experiments conducted and final completion of Gemini XII mission; diagrams and photographs.
